Simon holds a LLB(Hons) and a BCom from the University of Auckland where he graduated as a senior scholar in law. He was admitted to the bar in 2013.
Before joining Wilson Harle, Simon was a solicitor in the disputes resolution team at a large New Zealand law firm. During that time, he was involved in a variety of commercial litigation at the High Court and Court of Appeal. This included significant Canterbury earthquake insurance claims, Fair Trading litigation and insolvency litigation. Since joining Wilson Harle, Simon has been involved in a wide range of the firms’ activities including acting for clients subject to Commerce Commission investigations and proceedings and advising clients in general contractual and insurance disputes. Simon has a particular interest in competition, insurance, tort and media law. He has also been a Torts Law tutor at the University of Auckland.
